Brewed with local PA Dutch malt from our friends at Deer Creek, this traditional Munich-style malt produces a deep amber hue and hints of burnt straw, caramelized nuts, and toasted bread. Light on hop bitterness, our Bock provides a good swift kick of dark stone fruit, sweet caramel, and chewy bready notes.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a toffee color with a medium sized foamy orange-tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was malty with sweet dark and golden fruits. The flavor was sweet, toasty and malty with yeast, a bit of graininess and light fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Solid.

Poured into a pilsner glass, the appearance was a transparent burnt golden color with no carbonation seen rising. Quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white foamy head left a sticky lace.
The aroma starts sweet bready with rich honey toasty malts. Toffee and caramel come cleanly through with a nice grassy to earthy bitter hoppy edge underneath.
The flavor brings the sweetness of bready/biscuity malts and adds a touch of earthiness to it. Sly herbal quality. Quick sweet malty aftertaste with a semi-sticky sweet malty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation seems fairly light.
Overall, nice bock that I would love to have again. Would go great with some brats.

12oz bottle poured into FLying Dog willibecker glass. Bottled on 7/27/16. Pours with large head atop a clear ruby amber color. Aroma is mildly toasty, light bread, and a general clean maltiness. Flavor is lightly earthy biscuit with a mild mineral finish. A little noble in the flavor as well. Low bitterness, bready watery finish. A very light, easy drinking lager.

On tap at troegs brewing. Pours out crisp copper orange topped with a small head. Nose is citrus hops wheat grain malts and a nice pit fruit sweetness. Taste is more of the citrus wheat notes along the pit fruit sweetness and some malty notes.
