Porter style Ale. Chocolate and beer! Are we Mad? We’d rather say passionate. We marry the soothing flavour of this complex malt barley grist with a hint of dark chocolate. This is a beer for your more self-indulgent moments. Great for lazy afternoons or long evenings, it is best served chilled with your feet up, watching the sun go down. Like we say – chilled.

A silky-smooth suppertime beer, created using dark malts and chocolate. Pronounced vanilla notes fuse the chocolate and malts together to give a rich, warming, flavour that also works well as a complement to fruity desserts, summer puddings and autumn berries.

Clear dark brown colour. Aroma and flavour have an abundance of chocolate and vanilla. Not overly sweet though so it maintains a good level of drinkability.

Bottle at PoW, Farnborough. More coffee in the aroma than chocolate. Also a sour yeastyness. Dark cola brown. Thin off-white head. Initial bitterness. Then the a chocolate maltyness comes through. Light bodied. Watery. Prickly carbonation. Long astringent finish. Alright. Goes down easily enough but nothing special. Finish could be less astringent.

Dark brown with little beige head. Aroma is chocolate, moccha, brown sugar, lacto. Taste is quite bitter with only a little milk chocolate sweetness. A little spicy and not so smooth with still ok drinkability. Not bad.

33cl bottle as a gift. Pours dark mahogany with a fairly modest beige head. Chocolate aroma is fairly intense and dominating. Malty and slighlty roasty with lots of dark chocolates, hints of vanilla and dark fruits. Medium sweet and rather chocolaty with a light bitterness. A bit thinner than expected, but a pleasant dessert beer. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Chocolate Porter on 31 Dec 2016 at 21:16 - Score: 7

330ml bottle. Reddish tinged dark brown colour with a creamy beige foam head leaving alittle lacing. Rich chocolatey & vanilla nose. Taste is malty, toffee, powdered dark chocolate, vanilla, some coffee and with earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter chocolate finish. Quite drinkable.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable light beige head, clear deep brown color with red taints, a little odd looking, aroma of milk chocolate and caramel, flavor of milk chocolate that feels a bit artificial like Hershey, and also some caramel. Not too good, feels industrial.
