Bottle, 21 years past bb... Bless you, MiP... Murky brown, small, airy offwhite head. Heavy, oxidised, malty candy aroma. Similar flavour, very sweet, dark caramel. Surprising.

Bottle, 21 years past The BBD! Pours hazy dark ruby with no head at all. Clear aroma of barrel, malt and caramel. Dusty onset, replaced by sweet notes of malt, caramel and fruit. Sweet aftertaste with subtle sourish notes. Tastes like a decent barley wine, actually. Nice.

BOTTLE 33 CL BB 05-JUN-2015.
Look: clear copper, beige frothy head with poor retention.
Aroma: big malts, fruity oxidized notes, a hint of alcohol and even that goes away after a while being replaced my some marvelous nutty sherry notes.
Taste: big malt, very sweet, alcohol spice and heat but almost no rough ethanol flavour, nutty notes.
Very fine sipping beer, which is hugely underrated on RB.

Classic pale Doppelbock, once advertized as strongest beer in the world. Thin, yellowish head quickly dissolving under influence of the alcohol, deep orangey amber colour, clear. Powerful aroma dominated by alcohol, as in a cognac or orange liqueur, Belgian chocolates, orange peel, marzipan, tobacco, caramel. Soft malty taste with lots of honey- and sugar-like sweetness in onset, alcohol rapidly setting in with a burning, astringent effect in mouth and throat, way too much to be good. Some meatiness (broth) in the background as well.

Canned, 0.50l. Clear deep amber color with thin off-white head and no lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, alcohol, vanilla and candy sugar. Taste starts with super rich and sweet maltiness, followed by scotch-like and some wooden notes. Mouthfeel is warm and alcoholic, finish is sharp bitter, while aftertaste is spicy. Full body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. Superstrong taste, great winter warmer...
