0.33l bottle. Clear, deep orange body, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toast, ripe orange and apple. Taste of caramel, figs and loads of booze. The alcohol flavor is a bit harsh. Medium bodied, sticky sweet mouthfeel. It’s a nice beer, but because of the really obvious booze flavor it’s not outstanding.

Bottle @ Home. Pours reddish copper with a white head. Aroma of malt, sweets, sweet fruit, apples, little alcohol. Flavor is sweet malts, sweets, candy sugar, caramel, sweet fruit, alcohol. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, warming alcoholic finish. 300413

amber colour, not too much bright brownish head;aroma of candy sugar and alcohol; taste is fully dominated by malty sweetness and alcohol with fruity (mostly apple) notes - it’s a bit like a liqueur

33 cL bottle. Pours a clear brown with a small, fleeting, bubbly, tan head. The nose is intense molasses and caramel, with some vanilla, butter toffee, and antifreeze. The first sip is cloyingly sweet, and leaves a musty taste in your mouth. The finish is long, and warms your throat like whiskey. Heavy body, and sticky, clingy mouthfeel. This is a heavy malt bomb, with no subtlety or depth.

Beautifully done strong beer from one of Germany’s old breweries. Eisbock in particilaur is a speciality of Kulmbac, and this one is a joy to drink. Aroma of toffee, similar ot a Belgian stron ale, and taste is also sweet like toffee, with a slight hint at the alocohol content. Nice for a winter’s evening....Cheers!

33cl bottle. Amber colour with a light beige head that very quickly dissapears. Aroma is alcoholic, malty, caramelish. Flavor has notes of sweet whine wine, sherry and Porto Wine, light wooden notes, caramel and alcoholic. The final has a medium sweetness with a very light bitterness, good balance with alcohol. EIn Bier, das ich bereits vor einigen Jahren getrunken haeb, als es noch in vielen österreichischen Supermärkten zu haben war. Es ist ein schweres Bockbier mit tiefen torfig-erdig Noten, die von einer beerigen Note nach altem Romtopf. Diese für ein solches Bier klassischen Noten kriegen sie gut hin, aber irgendetwas fehlt, das das Bier besonders macht. Diese Aromenstruktur kriegen andere interessanter hin.

Shared from a 33 cl bottle at home. Pours a clear dark copper with a quickly vanishing white head leaving no lacing. Sweet malt aroma. Sweet flavor with some cherry notes. A bit cloying and boozy in the finish.

Bottle. Pours clear deep amber with a medium large fizzy head that dissipates quickly with almost no lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, molasses and alcohol. Flavor is very robust, sweet caramel and molasses with notes of wood and spice. Alcohol is apparent throughout. Very little bitterness. But - yay, my first Eisbock and 71 style rating!
