An important beer created to celebrate the 40 years of our brewer Stefano and his passion for spirits. Barley wine created through a passage in original Scottish whiskey barrels of the Highlands, complex and structured, we find scents of toasted chestnuts, cherries in spirit, carob, hazelnut cream and a slight peat from the whiskey. On the palate it has a soft entry, evident ethyl notes and a dryness in the typical whiskey finish.

Black or almost black with a finger of greyish head, soon receding to the thinnest layer; no lacing. Already feels very dense in the aroma, with a thick nutty malts base, followed by notes of almond, cherries, alcohol. Very intense and nicely clean, though maybe not super rich, especially per style. Taste notes follow the aroma: thick nutty malts base, rather strong almond and cherries notes, a subtle touch of something slightly smoked, alcohol warmth. A little rough at the edges, with the alcohol note feeling quite separate from the overall taste. Mostly sweet as expected but overall in good balance. Dense and viscous body as expected, partially mellowed by a light hint of carbonation. Ok, but far from excellent.
