“a stout of great contention”
We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.

Black with a small, dark tan head. Fudge brownie aroma. Taste is cocoa powder, cream, vanilla....caramel. Incredible amount of flavor. Truly a dessert. Hard to believe the ABV... Wonderful.

Bottle: Poured black with a thin tan color head. A blast of vanilla filled my nose and butterscotch. Taste is a bit roasted malt with vanilla and light chocolate.

Bottle - Desert in a glass. Chocolate, caramel and vanilla in a glass. Like in haling a chocolate bar and drinking a rich desert. Not sure about Creme Brulee but it is definitively a fun desert beverage.

Draught @ Cockney Pub. Pours light brown with a tan head. Huge aroma of cocoa, sweet milk chocoate, nougat, grinded dark chocolate, sweet and rich chocolate desserts. Flavor is very sweet with milk chocolate, vanilla, nougat, little bitter dark chocolate, hint of wood. Full body, soft carbonation. Really impressive aroma, even trough the smokefilled barroom i could smeel it get poured before i got the glas in my hand. But the flavor is way to sweet for my liking. 020910

Bomber bought through Brill & Co. Pours close to black with a frothy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is very sweet with roasted malts, french toast, lots of vanilla, alcohol, butterscotch hard candy, caramel, roasted malts and some very sweet low quality chocolate. taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla, buttery toast, burnt wood and alcohol. Mouthfeel is cloying sticky sweet, boozy, tiny watery and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with toast, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch hard candy and charred wood. Sweetness is really over the top.
