Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

650ml bottle [as Imperial Pumpkin Porter, 7.6% abv]. Opaque, dark brown colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Minimally chocolately, dark malty and slightly veggie-spicy aroma, hints of pumpkin, vanilla, a touch of aniseed, cinnamon. Taste is slightly dry, toasty and minimally chocolately, dark malty, mildly spicy, minimally veggie, hints of pumpkin, a touch of vanilla, chili, fruity cinnamon. Slightly creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Well balanced, mild, harmonious and homogeneous - nice.

Bomber from Brewers Haven. Dark Brown pour, one finger beige head. Chocolaty aroma, hint of pumpkin pie spice. Taste is more pumpkin than pie spice, chocolate notes, roast malts. Velvety feel.

Bomber at home little fall preview despite living in seasonless place. Fairly dark blackish brown. Nose is chocolate, dark malt, some pumpkin. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, pumpkin and pumpkin spices but not over the top, some earth and cola. Lighter bodied than I would’ve though. Fairly dry.

At Keyaki as Pumpkin Porter. Dark brown, small golden head. Taste is pumpkin and spice, sweetness. Maybe little too sweet. Aroma is similar , lots of spicing. Bit of chocolate too, but not quite there for me. Rerate: 22/10/13 Aroma is more bitter chocolate than pumpkin. Although is a bit fruity too. Tastes good. Quite interesting. Not so much pumpkin but it is lingering there which is quite welcome. Bit of sweetness, touch of booze, fruity too. Lightly spicy. Have to say, I prefer it this time. Obviously helps if you are not totally shit-faced.

Release #38. 8.4% abv.
Looks black but it's really a very dark brown cuz I reddish highlights when I hold my glass to the light. Good +1 finger head of tannish foam, pretty decent lacing.
Heavy pumpkin spices aromas with some roasted malt. Buy a pumpkin pie at the grocery, that's what it smells like.
Big pumpkin spices taste with some roasted malt, some alcohol, mostly in the finish.
Medium body with light carbonation.
Pretty solid Pumpkin beer here.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a very dark brown color with faint res highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that left decent lacing. The aroma was coffee, cinnamon, wood and malt. The flavor was bitterish and malty with faint coffee, melon and hints of nutmeg and clove. Long coffee and melon finish. Medium bodied and smooth. Odd.

Danke an Erzengel. Dunkler, cremig malziger Beginn. Milde runde Noten von Kürbis, brotig, Roggen. Schokoladig, nur wenig kräutrig. Angenehm milde Süße, leicht nach Vanille. Süffig, vollmundig, nicht übertrieben krätrig - selten bei US Pumpkin Ales... 11/12/12/12/12/12

Draught, as Epic Imperial Pumpkin Porter @ Jojo's Restaurant and Taphouse, Frederick, MD. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of roast and malt, with notes of pumpkin and yeast. Bitter-veggie flavour of pumpkin and roast, with malty, estery and coffeelike notes and touches of hops. Bitterish and pumkinny aftertaste. Very decent.
