500 ml bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours fairly pitch black color with a small dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, toffee, molasses, dark bread, light peat smoke, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, dark bread, caramel, toffee, molasses, light peat smoke, toast, and roasted earthiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, toffee, molasses, toast, light peat smoke, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a moderately creamy, lightly slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good imperial stout. Good balance and complexity of roasted/dark malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Aroma: starts with hops, then goes roasted coffee, smoke, dark malt, some CO2 acidity, licorice?a touch of alcohol.
Tatse; mostly roasted, a bit acid coffee, dry hp bitterness.
The designation of a „russian imperial stout” is a bit exagg
erated, right? A foreign extra stout this is, isn’t it?

Tap @ Doerak. Dark color, short head. Aroma of chocolat and roasted malts, some caramel, bit flowery and earthy hop. Nice bitterness, soft sweetness. Creamy mouthfeel. Very rich beer for ’only’ 7.7% RIS. Easy to drink and lovely balanced. Great brew.

On tap @ Beer Temple. Very dark color, but not opaque. Dense beige head. Aroma’s: roasted malts, hints of chocolate, slightly smoky. Flavor is heavy roast, acidic, medium bitter. Body is medium. Finishes nicely roasted, medium bitter.

Draught. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, licorice, earth, bread, dried fruit, booze. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of chocolate, licorice and dried fruit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. A bit thin but otherwise OK.

50cl Bottle brought from London, thanks Manon! ABV 7.4%. Black colour, light-beige head. Aroma is way off, the smell of Brussels sprouts mixed with tar, some salty liquorice. Flavour also has sprouts, cabbage, tar, ashy bitter hard roasted malts, hint of chocolate, chicory, very bitter finish. Medium-bodied. I can’t believe this is how it’s intended to taste, this was undrinkable. Will definitely re-rate if I have the opportunity.

Bottle, 7.4%. Mild fruity and roasted aroma, some coffee. Clear very dark brown colour. Small tight brown head. The flavour is very creamy, almost like fresh wood or vanilla to start with. Then it turns nicely roasted, some coffee. A good brew.
