Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, best before 7/25/2014. Pours hazy deep gold color with a small foamy off white head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing. No glass lacing, and a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light bready tartness and yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice complexity and solid robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; with a good yeast/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly watery/bready mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a pretty solid hefeweizen. Good balance and solid robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink. It was fairly enjoyable.

355 mml bottle tasted on 19/07/2014. Hazy golden colour without head (disgusting appearance with no carbonation, no head for a Hefeweizen...). The smell is bad too, metallic and weak. Taste has some banana but very dissapointing too. Extremely low carbonation and low body. Disaster for a Hefeweizen! Next one please!

Bottle 355 ml. Pours hazy golden with white head. Yeasty and malty. Doesn’t really taste like classic hefeweizen, lacks flavor and body.

Not much of a hefeweizen to be sure. Just a little grain and generally lager like. Pours cloudy orange. Light sour finish with a sense that tries hard to be at least citrusy but just isn’t. Bottle.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours golden orange with a light haze. No head despite high carbonation. Aromas of banana, clove, sugar. Taste has more generic spiciness and banana sweeties. Slightly astringent finish. OK, but prefer the authentic German Hefes.

Bottle from Harvest Market, Pours a slightly hazy pale straw color with a huge frothy rocky white head that persists forever. Aromas of spicy wheat, and clove with hints of light fruit. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Sweet honey like maltiness with a spicy edge to it. Clove with a hint of yeastiness and a touch of light fruit round out the flavor. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. Nice brew, I enjoyed it, but it is missing something that the examples from Germany exude.
