Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Bottle, thanks to Eirik for sharing. Very cloudy, orange coloured body. Fading white head. Dry smell of wheat and spiced fruits. Citric fruits in flavour, somewhat yeasty and spicy. A bit thin, feels diluted on the swallow. Very average (Strømmen, 24.05.2011).

355ml bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a good head and steady bubbles. But the head disappears almost completely halfway down the glass. The nose is creamy with a hint of bamana. The taste is not so obvious and doesn’t have the big flavours usually associated with a hefe. The palate has decent structure but completely lacks creaminess and there is a stale dry finish. Overall, this has too much of the barley flavour and not enough of the wheat, so it falls short of the expected Hefe experience.

Trinkbares Sommerweizen. 8/8/8/7/8/8

Pale white yellow body, white head, fluffy but disappearing. Aroma of wheat, rather sweet but with some tartness. Some mixed fruit and straw notes. Some funkiness going on, almost like it has a mild lacto-acid infection. Flavour sweet wheat, again mixed fruit notes, again some funkiness. No noticeable hops. Rather thin body, finish is mostly dry. Bit like Berliner weisse but thinner. (draught @ Café Samson, Nijmegen)

Big coarseish white head. Hazy opaque yellow body with carbonation. Papery dusty wheaty aroma with herbal notes. Dry-sweetish orangey wheaty banana taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied sharpish dusty mouthfeel. Dryish dusty wheaty orangey aftertaste with spicy resiny minty notes. Nice! Highly drinkable and refreshing. (0.355l bottle, Meny Vika, Oslo.)

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy light gold color with a large foamy white head. The aroma is orange peels, ripe bananas, and wheat. The flavor is very sweet with a little tart in the middle. No real hop profile. The palate is carbonated and a little watery and acidic. A nice hefe, but nothing special.
