Het was in 2012, ter gelegenheid van de 150ste verjaardag van de brouwerij, dat de Chimay 150 voor het eerst werd gebrouwen, in een beperkte oplage (150.000 flessen). Inmiddels opgenomen in het vaste assortiment van de brouwerij.
Chimay 150 is een sterk, verfijnd en verfrissend blond bier met een evenwichtige smaak, een bloemig aroma en aroma's van gedroogd fruit en specerijen. Het heeft een alcoholpercentage van 10%. Het wordt geproduceerd met een mengsel van twee hopsoorten, Saaz en Hallertau Mittelfrüh: twee hopsoorten die bekend staan om hun grote kwaliteiten en finesse. De unieke smaak is ook het resultaat van een geheime specerij die aan het recept werd toegevoegd.

Fruity malt aroma. Hazy golden color, stable head. Medium sweet and lighter bitterness, alcohol notes. Above medium body, moderate aftertaste.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sottobosco e di vegetazione. La finezza olfattiva è molto elevata e l'esistenza olfattiva è considerevole. Il manto birroso superiore ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido si presenta velato. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è contenuto. La forza gustativa è elevata e la persistenza è buona. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. Al palato prevalgono impressioni di miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, un accenno di resinoso, erbaceo, agrumi, arancia amara, coriandol, cardamomo, eucalipto, mela verde, frutta passita e alcol invadente.

An 11.2 oz bottle acquired from bierhandlewillems the middle of last year, I am now ready to open it. Using my Chimay glass, of course, I tilt the bottle to see a cloudy, dark gold body finished by a continually recharged, steady head of completely white foam. The scent gives us yeast esters, yellow fruit, baked bread and meadow. I lift the glass and take a drink, wow, it is a full sensation immediately and creamy too. But I am here for the taste. There is peach, grain, melon, a noticeable hoppiness, something flowery and apricot. Considerably good.

Аромат до узнаваемости классичен. Пшеница, немного пыльцы от цветков, намеки на мед, груша, солод ячменый, немного цитруса от хмеля. Цвет золотой, очень пышная и стойкая белая пенка.
