Het was in 2012, ter gelegenheid van de 150ste verjaardag van de brouwerij, dat de Chimay 150 voor het eerst werd gebrouwen, in een beperkte oplage (150.000 flessen). Inmiddels opgenomen in het vaste assortiment van de brouwerij.
Chimay 150 is een sterk, verfijnd en verfrissend blond bier met een evenwichtige smaak, een bloemig aroma en aroma's van gedroogd fruit en specerijen. Het heeft een alcoholpercentage van 10%. Het wordt geproduceerd met een mengsel van twee hopsoorten, Saaz en Hallertau Mittelfrüh: twee hopsoorten die bekend staan om hun grote kwaliteiten en finesse. De unieke smaak is ook het resultaat van een geheime specerij die aan het recept werd toegevoegd.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Bottle as 33ml Sterk Blond (Green Label) 10%abv. Pours a hazy golden colour with a thick foamy white head. Aromas of bananas, pears, clove, coriander, bubblegum, herbal and spice. Taste is spicy with more herbal and fruity notes and a citrusy hop bitterness on the finish. Medium to full body with a lively mouthfeel. Hides the alcohol well for a strong beer. Very good

Tap at Mort Subite in Austin - clear gold with a frothy, lasting head - nice firm malt structure - very dry for the strength - strong bitterness paired with vibrant peppery phenols - slight warmth and lingering bitterness and spice - tasty.

Amber with a frothy, white head. Aroma of coriander, pepper, grass. Taste is herbal bitter the whole way through. Lingering spice. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. Alcohol is completely hidden. Nice!

Servida en cáliz, color dorado brillante, con destello anaranjado, opaca, espuma blanca cremosa bien retenida. Aroma fresco y apetitoso a levadura belga, pan, cereal, fruta de hueso madura (albaricoque, melocotón...), cáscara de naranja, especias...Entra en boca conquistando, tras una ligero golpe inicial dulce afloran de seguido marcadas notas de lúpulo, florales y amargas, especias, y un amargor que me recuerda al de ciertos cítricos (yuzu, cumquat, pomelo...), sensación deliciosa herbal y floral durante toda la cata, recuerdos de buena repostería, felicidad, vida...Maravillosa Chimay 150

Flaska från bolaget. Backlog. Guldig med vit krona. Oerhört pigg och fräsch och väldigt drickbar. Svårt att ringa in stilmässigt. Som en saison:ig trippel. Mycket gott.
