Belgian-Style Imperial Wheat Ale
This sweet and full-bodied white beer packs a serious punch with the taste of spices, malt, fruit and yeast.
Every sip is a memorable moment, like the historic day when French explorers met with the First Nations people who came out to greet the Don de Dieu, the ship carrying Samuel de Champlain.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with a large white head and decent lacing. Aroma is grain, honey, spice, yeast and wheat. I must say that I noticed a touch of urine right after opening, but it thankfully faded as the beer breathed. Flavor is spicy, I think I detect coriander and grains of paradise, yeast, wheat. Lightly sweet, no real bitterness. Light bodied and well carbonated with small bubbles that feel prickly in the mouth. A pretty nice beer, just don’t stick your nose in it right after you pop the cap :).

Hey, a Unibroue beer I haven’t rated - how about that - anyway, pours is a lightly hazy gold - fizzy, but the head dissipates quickly - nose is like strong belgian meets hefeweizen - soft, tangy wheat notes, moderate spice, honey, some clove, apple - carbonation is high, but medium soft in the mouth - quite sweet at first - honey, pear, apple - spicy through the middle - some wheat and yeast character late - a touch of banana - a bit of mineral dryness, but it does not completely balance the sweetness - alcohol warmth in the finish, along with lingering sweetness and spice - good, if a little sweet.

Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle 750ml @ My 30th birthday tasting
Pours clear golden with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long dried fruity finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold with a white head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma has a good amount of belgian yeast with some sweet grains and just a hint of light sweet fruit. Flavor starts with has grain up front with some belgian yeast and sweet fruit underlying. Light considering ABV.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best by 3/18/2013. Pours hazy golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense white head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Some light spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big grape, lemon, pear, apple, peach, floral, honey, grass, light pepper, and earth. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance. Taste of big peach, pear, apple, lemon, grape, grass, herbal, floral, earth, pepper, and honey-like sweetness. Lingering notes of grape, pear, lemon, apple, honey, and floral on the finish for a while. Fantastic flavor balance and complexity; with no cloying sweetness at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a slickly slick and creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden pretty much no warming noticed at all on the finish. Overall this is an incredible Belgian strong pale! Insanely complex and balanced; and extremely smooth to drink . Outstanding!

Heavy florals, permeating aroma. The head lays on thick and the taste produces. There is some light sense of perfumed coriander but everything diffuses pleasantly on the senses here. Bottle at The Rhino.

Bottle at home in NH, shared with others. Pours faint yellow-gold with a filmy, white head. Big yeast and Belgian candi aroma. Very sweet flavor, light bubblegum and plenty of yeast, slight white wine. Medium to full in body wtih lively carbonation, faint warmth and a vinous texture. Warm finish, big yeast character, sharpish malt and wheat ntoes, candi sugar. Not bad. Fairly dynamic stuff.
