IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India drank a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Beautiful orange appearance with big white head. Aroma, first impression: So American. Pines and malt. Taste is sweet and juicy, more of the nice residual sweetness and bitterness. A nice benchmark East Coast IPA, not much space for critique here. But then again it’s not too distinct.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo. Golden amber with a loose ceam head; the aroma is surprisingly malty; in the mouth there’s an immediate hit of strongly aromatic bitter hops over a body of well toasted grains; the finish is long with a metallic, herbal, edge to it. An attractive East Coast style IPA.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a bright, brassy gold color with a big rocky beige head. Fresh citrus hop aroma with notes of resin and pine. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor has underlying notes of burnt sugar malt and peppery hops. Finish is dry and bitter.
