75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is wineous, acidic and fruity. Sweet, acidic and distinct fruity flavoured. Bitter and slight acetone to acidic flavoured. Bitter and acidic finish.

Other folks at the tasting liked this even less than me. I thought it tasted like an accidental sour, though not the worst I’ve ever had (and I kinda wonder how much my expectations played into my rating). Appearance was darkened amber with a huge, rocky white head. Lots of muddy sour notes in the aroma. Sort of a cherry fruitiness oddly mixing with caramel malt. Fairly acetic. Some smoke and citrus, as well. Flavor is sharp with too much caramel presence. Over-carbonated and finishes with an odd off-note. Also, I’m not sure what this beer has to do with saisons. I’d sorta like to try it again, but I hope that they reign things in a bit in future batches.

Bottle. Pours with a reddish brown body with a tan head. Aromas of cherry, dimetapp, milk chocolate, cinnamon, bready and sour. Flavors of cherry, dimetapp, and a light sourness. Lively bubbles.

Aroma: The nose has some cherries, brett/funk, yeast, chocolate, caramel, and some wood
Appearance: Opaque brown pour, a slight red hue, a thick/creamy light brown head, and lots of lace
Flavor: It tastes fairly tart, cherry, some caramel sweetness, slightly woody, decent funkiness
Palate: This one is fairly creamy on the mouth, decently fizzy as well, with a medium-long tangy finish
Overall Impression: I was excited to see this one in a store, as I always enjoy trying a Cigar City brew that I haven't previously tasted. This one was pretty interesting stuff, the initial whiff was quite sour, but the nose mellowed as it breathed in the glass for a bit. The flavor is pretty much on target for what the nose promised, and the body is fairly solid as well. I found this to be a pretty nice Flanders Reddish/Sourish type of beer. This one is only a few months old, but I could see this one being even better with some age. I will have to age one at some point, and try it again.

750ml bottle pours a hazy brown with a creamy off white head. Nose is sweet tarts, lemons, light malt. Flavor is ketchup, malts, caramel, light smoke, plastic, orange rind. The crystal malt is everywhere here. Finish is lightly sweet, tart. Needed more yeast, less crystal malt. I guess that could be said of every CCB offering.

Bottle. Murky brown color, hi carbonation. Aroma of dust and funk. Taste is sour dark fruits. Not bad.

Pours a cloudy dark ruby with a thick, pillowy, off-white head - semi-funky, semi-dry aroma, with a fair amount of vinous, oaky character - a lot of cherry sweetness upon a deeper inhale - flavor is kind of a mess - starts out fairly tart, with a lot of vinous, red wine character - a bit of vinegar and light funkiness - this is followed quickly by the arrival of a strong grape juice sweetness that persists for the rest of the experience, and eventually clashes quite strongly with the other characteristics of the beer - a bit of bitterness and a harsh, astringent acidity arrives on the tail end - making the sweetness even harder to palate - lingering light funk - some alcohol heat - I feel like there is a good beer hiding in here, if the recipe were tweeked and it had a year or so on it - as it is now, though, it is really messy and, honestly, hard to palate after a while.

Pretty foamy, this one. Light brown. Very funky, dupont-yeast kind of character in the aroma. Earthy, chocolatey with light cherry. Fairly tart, a sweet and sour brew. It’s ok. Thanks Destructo!
