Very good, dense, yellow head, stable over bright orange beer with a slight cold haze. Citrus, orangezeste, pineresin aromas, and a serious yeastester’ part. Sweet, liqueurish alcohol in the background. Very resiny, even solvent, on a dry citrus background. Finish is turpentine-like bitter; this is serious Cascade! But the yeast manages to make the balance utterly non-American, rounding it off by lending spicy features. Pretty well-bodied, very slick, dry-out effect by the resins, rather than by acids. Wow. And that from Delhaize off all sources - the most Belgian of chains...

bottle@my beertasting – sample: this one is pretty big surprise, an American-style IPA made by Proefbrouwerij for a big Belgian supermarket, considering that pretty much no one makes IPA’s in Belgium & that no one knows what an IPA is, I really didn’t saw this one coming, expected even less for it to actually be a good IPA which it is, limited to 4000 bottles, light orange with white head, smells like sweet grapefruit hop, taste is very round almost sweet but still bitter grapefruit hop as well as some citrus & touch of other fruits, dry finish, very slight almost iron like aftertaste /// got another 75 cl. bottle of this, think this one is a new batch, bottled 3rd of may 2012 // my previous rating is from 2011 so this one is definitely a new one, still limited to 4000 bottles per batch, assures freshness, I suppose // still surprised to see not only a bomber of a budget friendly IPA in Belgium but even a mainstream IPA at all, very weird, are the masses actually getting into this style, so bizarre to see this // clear orange, lots of bubbles rising, creamy white head that sets rather quickly // smell is weir muted bitter grapefruit peel, tangerine & cats piss, pine resin // taste is a rather bitter pine resin, blended with some toothpaste, lemon peel, floral, almost hint metallic & exotic fruits, some candy sugar, I find this seriously bitter, 23 IBU? you have got to be kidding me, I find this harsh, am I used to drinking old IPA’s or something? I think it is the body, light, quite sparkling // remember batch one being better, will still stick to my rating, it is an ok IPA & finding a nice priced IPA in a supermarket in Belgium remains a d weird thing dude
