Sweet malt character comes from the pale malt and some toffee character comes from the crystal malt. A little roasted barley adds a touch of astringency. Special yeast adds fruity esters. The hops give classic clean herbal and resin hop flavour with a moderate easy drinking bitterness.

Cask at Black Prince, New Haw. Aroma is sweet and malty with a slight berry sourness. Clear dark amber. Frothy blotchy off-white head. Malt to the fore here. It really leads the way. Doughy and sweet. Bitter grainy edge. A touch of sourness. Light. Slick. Flat-average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Nice enough. Certainly sessionable.

Cask at Three Magpies. Dark amber with a small beige foamy head. Light caramel malty aroma. Taste is brown bread, mildly sweet, light brown sugar. Seems thin for a cask, but pretty tasty.

Cask at Allsop Arms. Amber coloured with small white head. Aroma is yeasty and malty. Slightly floral. Quite smooth in the mouth and with a very slight bitterness. Tastes quite like a De Konninck, but not as special. Slight herbal element.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Bought at Bottlo, Oatley West. Sweet malt nose, a little toffee. Caramel coloured beer with thin disappearing white head. High carbonation, probably too much for a bitter. Light body, sweet taste. Slightly smoky finish with more sweetness. Very average, reminds me of 'supermarket brand' beers.
