Ruby red, Gordon Finest Red astonishes with its inimitable and pronounced fragrance. Its darkly tinted colour matches its fiery temperament. Neither brown nor pale, it is reminiscent of sumptuous Scottish landscapes, falling asleep with the sheep in the dusk, as the sun sets over the never-ending Highlands. Gordon Finest Red, round and REDoubtable by nature !

Clear reddish - deep amber body. Off-white head, fastly diminishing. Weak aroma, bit malty and alcoholic. Lightly bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Quite weak and uninteresting, I would not say bad, just very unpronounced flavour.

Bottled A pale red colour, with a reddish head. A quite sweet and malt aroma. It tastes like Gordon X-mas: malty, spicy and sweet. I'm quite astonished when I see that the other raters don't like the flavour as much as I do.

Bottle @ Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Dark red / brown colored beer. Fair smell. Short, dry finish. Even though it’s 8.4%ABV the beer misses body, it’s weak.

Naja...10/7/8/8/5/7

draft@Highlander: clear, light amber colour with a red hue to it, tastes of medicinal alcohol, the cheapest of cheap whiskey plus lots of sweetness from caramel, sugar, nuts, rotting berries, wet moss, this is how I imagine what the slightly better moonshine taste like or perfume, oily texture, very bad overallEarlier Rating: 3/15/2011 Total Score: 0.92004 Vintage@Kulminator, consumed in Feb. 2011: ouch, this clearly shouldn’t have been aged, I assume no one has simple ever ordered this before, looks kind of light, watery orange, hints of purple if you hold it up to the light, according to the bottle it should have a purple hue, tiny white head, smells like chlorine, swimming pool water basically, appallingly enough it also tastes like swimming pool water, chlorine, watery, with hint of caramel, malt & sugar at the very end, disturbing & weird, this really shouldn’t have been aged, I cannot imagine that this is how it was ever supposed to taste, very watery, seriously everything about this beer screams swimming pool water

(hiver 2006-07)

Ah, nothing better than a sleazy can of Gordon’s on a saturday night! Indeed, I have not been too impressed with the other high-alcohol version of this Gordon’s brew. This one is, in theory, "softer" at only 8.4% alcohol. Thus, we have a beer that pours with a flat amber body and huge head. The aroma is cherries and barley, a bit smooth, a bit not. Taste is a soft mix of amber ales and lagers.... cherry hints and some malts in the midst of an extremely watery finish. This is better than the other Gordon beers, but still nothing to cry home about.

50 cl can. Drinkable, but not very good. Way too sweet. Basically a dark double-like beer that is a little more red than brown. Possibly posing as a Scotch Ale. Not much taste except the sweetness, with a bit of caramel and alcohol, though drinks easy for 8.4%. Cheap, strong swill.

Bottle. Nice clear deep red with a small but stable beige head. Aroma of malt, fruits, caramel, some fruit candies, spicy hints and some alcohol. Sweet flavor with caramel, honey hints and light fruitiness. A bit of alcohol towards the finish. Medium-bodied. Too sweet but still OK.
