Similar to Belgian-style Strong Pales, the Tripel is often characterized by its lighter color, spicy aromatics, and complexity. Brother David’s Triple is brewed with copious amounts of pale malts as well as Belgian candi sugar, giving it a deep golden hue, medium body and rich mouth feel. The dense head gives off aromas of candied orange peel, clover honey, pears, and a hint of freshly mown fields. The fruity esters and spicy hop flavors balance the phenolic characteristics leading to a peppery, citrusy finish.

Orange golden colour, fluffy white head. Spicy aroma, malt, yeast with a good hops tone. Candy sugar, citrus and cloves. Flavour fresh malty, sweet, fruity. Pleasant bitterness, quite spicy. ABV is well balanced. Lively carbonation, spicy finish. Nice.

355ml bottle. Clear orange, fine sparkling, creamy white head. Fruity and spicy aroma. Sweet, but not too sweet malt, citrus overtones. Burning alcoholic finish. Could do better with some tart yeastie notes.

Bottled 355ml. -from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Dark golden coloured, small white head, spices and alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, fruity and caramel with pleasant spicy and sharp alcohol presence. Spicy and yeasty finish. Alcohol is not so hidden but well balanced. Tasty one.

sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: clear yellow with a white head, this tastes a lot like sweet cornflakes with melted sugar on top – in a half good / half weird way – some sweet malts, caramel & definite hops in there as well plus obviously sweet grains – hint banana, slight bitterness from the hops in the finish – sticky & odd – probably would have started hating it if I had more than a small sample – Belgian?

Pale clear, amber color, small white head. Sweet fruity aroma with overriped banana and alcohol. Suprisingly quite light to this ABV. Flavor is fruity - banana, peach, green apples - then alcohol and light hops. Very strong triple which probably needs some cellaring to be enjoyable. Lacks some punch on the malt side too.

Aroma has some ripe fruits, especially apricot and hints of solvent. Flavour has solvent that turns into alcohol towards the aftertaste. Also some apricot and yeast. Feels a bit like Westmalle Tripel, but the alcohol does not come through that much.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, deep golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Slightly bready (cara-)malty aroma with notes of candied fruits and a tinge of alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Bottle 22fl.oz.[ Trade by Meilby ]. Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, ripped fruit, moderate yeasty, light alcohol, marzipan notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, ripped fruit, very BW alike. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20111001]

355ml bottle from Bierzweg. Poured clear amber with a white head. Yeasty, fruity, sweet aroma. Flavor is yeast, plums, sugar, sugar, raisins, sugar. Way too sweet to be really enjoyable. Smooth, long fruity finish. Maybe some aging would have made it more drinkable?
