Smoked Barleywine style ale aged in bourbon barrels
In February of 2017 we embarked on an adventurous journey from Athens, Ohio to Athens, Georgia with our friends at Creature Comforts. Not only do we share the same hometown name, we also share the spirit of collaboration and discovery through experience. In Athens, OH we brewed a smoked barleywine style ale inspired by the Adambeirs of Dortmunder, Germany. After a year of resting in Bourbon barrels, a beer rich in caramel, stone fruit, and light smoke notes emerged. Look for the Creature Comforts’ collaborative beer later this year, brewed in Athens, GA!

Bottle shared@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - Dark brown pour witb a beige ringed head. Sweet and dark toasted malty with some notes of cocoa, some caramel and toffee, fudge, some biscuity malt, light smoked accents, medium to full body, dark sweet malty finish.

birthday gift from my wife - excellent choice! :) dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige-ish head;aroma of burned plum jam, raisins soaked in brandy, dried berries, vanilla notes, some biscuits and slight bourbon notes; taste has the same notes with syrupy and spicy alcoholic notes; excellent 'beer'!
