We've beefed up Tonkoko and brewed an imperial version, set to launch at the 2017 Leeds International Beer Festival.

Expect an even bigger coconut, Tonka, Cacao & Vanilla hit, to compliment the extra abv. Wrapped in a creamy sweet milk stout.

Draft at the Brighton Bierhaus. Poured almost black in colour with a thin broken off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt and tonka beans. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, somewhat rich, herbal, light chocolate, light liquorice vanilla palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nicely balanced and the tonka is thankfully kept in the background.

Dark heart and a beige soul. Fine intensity in the aroma. Decent sweetness and a mellow carbonation level. Easy to drink. Felt a bit thin actually. Dark malt, chocolate, roast, vanilla and coffee in the flavor [On tap at Røør in Oslo, Norway]

Cask at Hogshead, Wolverhampton (as Imperial Tonkoko). Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Oats and lactose are the mainstay of the aroma – plus just a hint of alcoholic strength. In the mouth it is creamy and sweet. There’s flavour of lactose and roasted malts with a trace of vanilla too. After a while the alcoholic strength starts to show – leading to a boozy finish. This is very nice – but not quite a worldbeater.

Tap at Bar Kuja. Opaque colour and small beige head. Cinnamon, bun, toastyness, tonka beans in the nose. Suprisingly light-bodied. Toastyness, cinnamon, tonka beans. Quite watery for its abv.

Almost black with a creamy, beige head that lingers. Aroma full of tonka beans and vanilla. Lebkuchen underneath. Very dessert-like. Taste is quite sweet with a mildly sour finish that feels out of place. Lingering tonka. Medium, almost full-bodied, mild carbonation. Overall, the additives are firmly in control. For the most part they meld. Good for the style.
