Strong Pale Ale- sharp and refreshing with a crisp, clean bitterness and heaps of cascade and comet hops providing a floral, peppery aroma with hints of grapefruit.

Half of this strong pale ale on cask at Turf Tavern, Oxford. Clear, golden-brown body. No head at all. Fruity hops to the nose. Initial grassy hops building up to a light sappy taste of oranges and grapefruits mixed with malts. Weak bitter ending (17.03.2008).

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Straw colour, slightly hazy, creamy head in both colour and texture; acidic and metallic when first tasted with some orange, rather thin and dry, but developing a fruity finish. Unusual, not sure if I like it, but certainly drinkable.

Cask gravity at Kent BF 2006. Copper colour with disappearing white head. Some toffee malt, some strong green hop on finish. Bit of strawberry/grapefruit aroma. More grapefruit on end. Bit of farty yeast puts me off on the aroma.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] An orange beer with no head. The nose contains loads of lemon, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of peaches, oranges, lemon, and alcohol (quite impressive for a 4.8% ABV beer)

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Dark golden. Appley nose with yeasty banana. Sweet and sugary with some candy and sulpur along with stale hops and vegetables. Herbal, bitter finish . Never cared much for Loddon’s beers, and this was certainly not one of their better efforts.
