On tap at Freeman's (Quinpool). Pours black with beige head. Aroma is rich in toasted malts; a bit of espresso. Flavour is very similar. Pretty full-bodied. Solid oatmeal sout.

Pours black with a big, thick, lasting tan head. The aroma is of dark roast malt, coffee and oatmeal. The flavor is led by the dark roast malt. It’s robust and well balanced, a tasty full bodied brew.

Re-rate: Poured from 473mL can (thanks Jeff Brewnoser). Near black with full beige head. Earthy, roasty, decent. Improving the rating to 3.5. Mar 31, 2022 (7/3/6/3/13=3.2): Poured from 473mL can. Black with small beige head. Very roasty, slightly earthy, some cocoa. Aggressive, but decent.

Poured a black color with a medium sized tan head, slight cola color on edges of glass. Aroma was dark, roasted malts. Flavor was light roasted malts, with some creamy oats. Real smooth.

Dark brown, no head. Has more of a fudgey aroma, some harsh smokey notes, thin body, lots of bitterness. OK.

473mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt upfront, with some earthy notes, and little sweetness. Flavour is bitter and earthy, with bitter earthy notes, toasted malt, and a hint of cocoa. The lactose barely is detectable. A little harsh, but it's pleasant.
