Pours clear brown with a thin white head. Aroma of spices. Tastes has a malt body with strong spice influences. Palate includes cinnamon with nutmeg and cloves. Very interesting, hard to pick apart. Good beer.

Shared 12 oz. can. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of a Christmas candle. Taste is liquid potpourri. Way too much spice here. Drain pour.

Can from Signal Variety Plaistow, NH. Aroma is holiday spice--cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice. Appearance is crystal clear amber with minimal sparkle and 1 finger width off white fluffy head with only fair retention and minimal lacing. Taste is like the nose--mainly spice. It’s not so much a beer with hints of holiday spice but a holiday spice drink that qualifies as a beer. Palate is medium bodied, moderately thick with lively carbonation with a little bit of a zing at the tip of the tongue. Finish is mostly spice and short with hint of bitterness. This is an enjoyable holiday beer. No complexity and not terribly interesting but for a particular mood at a certain time of year it would fit the bill.

Nice caramel brown color and decent aroma, but this ale goes downhill from there. Spices but not much malt in the flavor. Unpleasant finish. A whole lot of better winter ales than this attempt are out there.
