The first seasonal craft beer release on the east coast, Winter Warmer has been our holiday tradition since 1988 and has since become a New England classic. Combining the subtle sweetness of caramel malt with holiday spice additions of cinnamon and nutmeg, it’s both hardy and satisfying yet surprisingly easy-drinking. From the cozy pubs and apartments of Boston to the snowy lodges in Vermont’s Green Mountains— enjoy with friends and loved ones and let the revelry begin!

Bottle. Spicy heather and pine aroma. Golden chestnut colour, low head. Almond, nutmeg and cinnamon - perfumed cookie. Medium to light body. A bit too spicy and sweet for my taste.

the funny thing about this beer is that it was one of the first beers I had that contributed to me looking for different options in the craft beer world and started me on this beer journey. i remember saying to my dad that i liked it but i could only have one or two before i got sick of the taste. i would have to agree with that even though that statement was made over 6 years and a lot of craft beer later. the cinnamon and nutmeg are dominant here, this isnt a beer for those of us who want to appreciate the sublties in a finely crafted brew, this is one for the masses who want to try something new during the holidays and then go back to a bud afterwards. not that thats a bad thing, just not up to the caliber that us beer geeks hold to.

Got on Draft at the 99 Restaurant in Chicopee, MA. Poured into a mug, Dark amber/ red color; Medium body; Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, & spice; It had small thick head that left a good amount of lacing. Flavor of malt, nutmeg, and another spice I couldn’t nail down; Fairly well balanced; Overall, a very interesting brew - the aroma is quite good on this one and I did enjoy this as a after dinner brew. It went well after my marinated steak tips. Would I drink again? YES! My rating is based on the fact that I had it on draft, not a bottle.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear amber with a medium creamy white head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is cinammon and spice with a fruity malt. Medium mouthfeel with a spicy malt with cinammon and nutmeg. Easy to drink a good Spice from Harpoon.

12oz bottle. Cinnamon Goldschlager aroma, without the intense alcohol. Way into the overspiced zone, this one’s popularity always surprises me. Could easily pass for a Pumpkin Ale, the cinnamon and nutmeg are intense. Medium bodied but so sticky and overbearing, it comes off a little strong. It is certainly unique, and probably a fun beer to interlude with a tasting, but novelty aside, this is a pretty sub par beer. Lacks subtly. It is what it is.

Bottled. An amber beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, brown cookies, and cardemomme. THe flavor is sweet with notes of malt and spices - especially cardemomme, leading to a dry spicy finish. The body is light.

Bottle from joshuahfl. Pours a brilliant rudy copper with a decent off-white head. Lots of spice aroma - cinnamon and nutmeg fit. A very fresh scent. Medium body with sort of creamy carbonation. Flavor is like a cinnamon stick over caramel flavor. Very smooth. Quite pleasant. There’s a touch of citric hop.

Pours amber/ruby, beige head. Aroma, spicy, nutmeg and cinnamon, loaded with good all spices nose, possibly some gingerbread. Flavor, all spice, light citrus finish / hops, plenty of good spices, same as aroma; nutmeg, cinnamon with hints of malts. Really enjoyed the right balance of spices in this one. Good seasonal.
