Combining the subtle sweetness of caramel malt with holiday spice additions of cinnamon and nutmeg, it’s both hardy and satisfying yet surprisingly easy-drinking. From the cozy pubs and apartments of Boston to the snowy lodges in Vermont’s Green Mountains— enjoy with friends and loved ones and let the revelry begin!

Bottle. Light amber color with small foamy tan head, slight pumpkin aroma, high carbonation, sweetIsh cherry like taste, medium finish. Interesting but reminds me too much of medicines.

Enjoyed on cask at harpoon in Windsor. This is actually a batch with vanilla bean. Golden dark with 2 finger tan head. Smells of vanilla and nutmeg. Taste is like cream soda. Lots of cinnamon and sort of an egg nog taste. It’s weird but pretty drinkable.

So so. Nutmeg comes to the fore in the nose but moreso in the flavor. Very spicy, with some orange peel hints to go with a toffeeish malt. Medium bodied, not as full or as rich as you might want it to be to balance the spices. However, where it fails on balance it succeeds on the flavor combinations. Hazy dark copper-brown, smallish head.

Bottle at a winter beers tasting at Norma Jean. Clear amber with a off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, honey, clove, cinnamon and lots of fruity esters. Malty caramelly flavor, a bit sweet at first, continues drier with some spiciness, some overripe fruits and some bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied. OK, pretty drinkable.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours amber with reddish hue with half inch head that disspates fairly quickly. A little lacing, medium body, medium/light carbonation, and spice aroma (mostly nutmeg). Taste is nutmeg, off taste in the middle, and a hint of cinnamon. Ok beer, nothing special for me.

Originally rated January 2006. Was given to me by Pedro on New Year’s Eve, 2005. Pours a nice rich auburn colour with very vivid carbonation. The off-white head is quite creamy, with decent retention and lacing. A thick creamy coating tops the brew. The aromas are quite subtle with some light cinnamon and spices in the background. Wow... nice taste ! Very warming cinnamon all the way through with a delicate spicy finish. Smooth and medium creamy mouthfeel. Reminds me of the cinammon toothpicks we use to buy when we were younger. A very enjoyable winter warmer for sure.

Enjoyed while at J Patrick’s in Chicago, IL; eating a Reuben and drinking with some friends. Appearance somewhat clear brown with thin head. Aroma hint of cinnamon with a bit of spice/malt mixture. Taste also hint of cinnamon with a slight warming kick, malt in the mixture, not bad.
