2019 Edition. Apparently a very hyped up release in the states, but I never even heard about it. Pricy stuff, to get here in Europe, so thats immidiately a negative compared to other geuze's ( even 3F regular Oude Geuze is about 4-5 times cheaper ), but the fact that its geuze-style (geuze inspired) i'll have to have this anyways. Thnx for sharing, Bas! Found in Borger Bottles (Antwerp). The beers pours clear, bit darker blonde. Small white head. Smell is funly, woody, mildly acetic, brett. Very nice! Taste is refreshing, sharp, relatively dense body (medium full) . Medium high carbo (not too high) Very nice sourness level that builds up, but never overpowers. Perhaps a tad to much citric acid (lemonsour) to my own opinion, but not half as bad as Timmermans (actual lambic) provides. Acetic acid is very low. Funk forward, with medium intense to intense woody notes. Very nice, blindly I could easely be fooled to call this a real Oude Geuze. Which places them immidiately in the top of the US examples ! Worldwide, it's still not as smooth or complex as the likes of the top examples (3f, girardin, oud beersel, Boon, … ) but surpasses some of the artisinal, real lambic brewery's with ease. T>o bad for the pricepoint. as a 50 cl, it's right market price (compared with the other geuze's ) would be between 5 and 10 euro's. currently, its 3-4 times as much, which simply doesn't work for the european market. In US, where this isnt imported (cheaper) but Oude Geuze is (more expensive) the difference should be much lower, and this would make a great alternative !

Sample at GABF 10/05/2019, thanks to kathryneels for assistance with note-taking. Slightly hazy dark orange color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Sparse strings of lace. Aroma of oak, fruit, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of tart citrus, oak, funky yeast and malt. The finish is tart and oaky with a citrusy aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Bottle pour @ Panema, Helsinki. Sour, funky and farmyardy with some woody saisony notes, some oak and tartness. Okay.
