A stronger, modern version of the mild that was once the country’s staple beer. Deep chestnut with aromas of sweet toffee and grassy hops. H.D has a fantastic chestnut colour, with aromas of sweet toffee and grassy hops. Sweet chocolate malt and hazelnut flavours top it all off for a satisfying finish.

Bottle from Vine & Grain. Appearance - opaque and close to black. Beige head. Nose - dark chocolate, smoke and liquorice. Taste - tar, smoke, liquorice and molasses. Also still a chocolate edge to it. Palate - medium bodied, roasty middle with light malty bitterness on the finish. Overall - lovely beer.
