H.D has a fantastic chestnut colour, with aromas of sweet toffee and grassy hops. Sweet chocolate malt and hazelnut flavours top it all off for a satisfying finish.

Cask at the strugglers inn Lincoln. Black colour with a white head. Malty and some chocolate. Light sweetness and a light bitter chocolate finish. Medium body.

Cask at Admiral of The Humber (JDW), Hull. Pours clear dark amber chestnut with beige foam. Aroma: some roast, light chocolate, nutty hints, hedgerow. Light sweet & bitter taste. Towards medium body with soft carbonation.

Cask at GBBF'23, day 3, 03/08/23. Deep mahogany brown with a good sized lasting beige head. Nose is brown bread, nutty tones, light fruit tang. Taste comprises fruit slice, raisins, hint of orange peel, biscuit, brown bread. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent flavoursome mild.

On cask at Curfew Bar, Berwick - Deep red-brown body, thick white top. Lots of nuts, caramel and dark chocolate on the nose, same again with the taste with the sharp hops coming through to clean things up. Good one.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A dark chestnut pour with a tight cream coloured head; aroma of red fruit; smooth grainy body with a red fruit taste; and a lingering creamy biscuit finish.

Cask-conditioned at The Berkeley (JDW), Bristol 14 February 2022. Deep brown in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Hedgerow fruit character with some plummy sweetness, a faint hint of leafy hop, brown sugar and chocolate sweetness, bready malts leading to a gentle finish. Good.

Cask at Furley & Co. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee and light red fruit. Taste has a hint of chocolate for me. Clean finish.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small off-white head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma plus hints of toffee and bread rolls. Plums and dark fruits strike first in the mouth, where the texture is sweet and creamy. Nuts and liquorice come through later, and there is an underlying vague hoppiness. Finish is quite dry. A good solid mild.
