Clear light brown / deep amber with a frothy off-white head and a slightly fruity light malt aroma. Light to medium bodied, it’s an old-school English bitter with floral hops, fruit malt and caramel sweetness, with a dry, softly bitter finish

Bottle from a holidaying friend. Pours clear amber with a short-lived off-white head. Aromas of caramel and a roasted nuttiness. Taste has a light hop tickle, ,mostly caramel though. Faint spice at the back. Another very trad beer.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby – as 4.4% Pours the classic bitter brown with a small white head. Not much of a nose – just vague hints of malt. In the mouth the prominent flavours are hops and corn, over a background of sweet malt. Finish is slightly more bitter. It’s a standard bitter – it’s OK
