To craft LIA FAIL our brewers selected flavour packed dark crystal and chocolate malts. This combination creates a warming malty body bursting with nutty, chocolate notes that we have balanced with spicy aromas from Cascade and Fuggles hops. It finishes full, mellow and satisfying.

Hops: Challenger, Cascade, Fuggles

Rich caramel aroma. Clear copper with off-white head. Taste is very rich malty sweetness. Some chocolate background. Crisp quick finish but some bitterness remains. Slight floral hops.

50 cl bottle @ Nurmo. Rated on 26.06.2010
Aroma has toffee, some English hops and some caramel. Flavour has resiny English hops, some toffee, caramel and hints of licorice. Not the most typical ESB. Probably the best palindrome‐beer in the world.

Copper beer with a thin head. Malty, burnt caramel scent and a matching flavour that’s not as rich as you might expect. More refreshing than the sort of "winter warmer" I was anticipating. Quite tasty none the less.

Bottle, 11C. Darkish amber with a modest light beige head. Aroma of plums, raisins, cake, some chocolate and spices.Pretty full-bodied, lowish carbonation. Dark fruits, toffee and bread, firm bitterness. A bit salty at the end. Pretty good.

50cl bottle. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Malty aroma notes of honey, nuts, flowers, spices, fruits and caramel. Sweet, malty and caramelly with a lightly hoppy, spicy and bitter finish. Surprisingly flavourful and nice. (2012-11-03)

Gravity dispense at Ascot Racecourse Beer Festival 2012 - 06/10/12. Chestnut brown with an off white head. Caramel malts dominate the nose. Tastes of biscuits, caramel malts and light toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

23rd August 2012: hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoons into a UK sleeve. Dark mahogany body with an off-white head: the nose a nutty, semi-sweet malty molasses mix. The taste was also dominated by the malts: chocolate and toffee being the most flavoursome, a drier, bitterness arrives later with the hops asserting themselves once the initial maltiness fades. Ok body wise and worth trying if you come across it.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Clear amber pour, with a light head and little lacing. Malty aroma. A typical Scottish malty ale with a nice rounded hoppy bitterness. Nice refreshing beer, but not really my favourite style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark coloured ale with a sweet and slightly roasted aroma. Not blessed with a huge amount of flavour but is crisp and more than drinkable.

Pours copper with a large, lasting head.Nose shows caramel, toffee, prunes, sultanas, golden syrup and orange marmalade.Similarly sweet flavours at first, with more dark fruit and caramel before some toasty and soft roasted malt enter.Body feels a bit watery. Not bad stuff.
