Following the announcement by Carlsberg that they were to stop brewing 'DBA', interested parties started a campaign on social media to find a brewer to produce this iconic ale. Both Burton Bridge Brewery directors, Geoff Mumford & Bruce Wilkinson were involved with the original beer at Ind Coope and felt it important that the beer returned to it's Burton home. Following a trial brew, the new beer made it's debut at the Burton CAMRA Beer Festival in March 2015. It has become a firm favourite, with many saying how much like the original beer it is.
It would be impossible to brew an exact replica, but we are sure it is as close as possible. Hops used are known only to a few and will not be revealed here.

Overly large off white head on a murky amber coloured body.
Malt, biscuit & floral aroma.
Medium bodied, foamy & clean.
Berries, floral, yeast, caramel & spiced tastes with a bitter finish.
Not very appealing to look at but tastes ok.

1/3 point from handpump at Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Dark yellow lightly hazy color, small white head. Smells hay, ripe fruits, earthy, bit musty. Decent smell, untagaunga unusual for me. Medium body, light carbonation. Tastes earthy, tobacco, bit nutty, hay, light sweetness, ripe fruits,, light toffee. Finishes lightly bitter with notes of ripe fruits, tobacco and nutty notes. Didn't know what to make of the smell, but taste is nice, I like it

Cask at Alexandra, Derby. Has the classic “Burton snatch” of sulphur in the nose, along with some malts. Pours a bright golden orange with minimal white head and good lacing. Sweet malts dominate the mouthfeel, along with cream grains. Hints of tangerine and toffee as well with a bitter finish. Very drinkable.
