Cask at Windmill (JDW) on Stansted airport. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, weak hoppy fruity nose. Moderate malty, fruity hoppy and slight buttery with rather short dry finish. Boring one.

Sampled @ GBBF day 3. Clear golden color, virtually no head. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly fruity, lightly bitter. Pretty straightforward, but decent enough.

Cask @ Whetherspoon, BHX. Smooth-mild beginning. Fresh with hints of grain. Easy to drink, not too deep. The aftertaste is grainy-sweetish, smooth with malty grainy hints and a subtle sweetness. Ok.

Last beer of the day during a CAMRA pub crawl of Shifnal, Shropshire on 14th Dec 13. Hand-pulled pint in The Anvil, where the buffet was arranged for. I bet you can’t guess the body colour! OK, it might be golden and have a white crown on top. Semi-sweet malty molasses in the nose and taste with mild hop hints below the surface. This is a good session Ale and one I’ve had many times (surprised to find I’d never written about it before. I like the sweeter Uk Bitters and this sits nicely in that style and taste. Not blessed with powerful flavours or a rich body it’s just a well made and stylish beer.
