12 oz can purchased at Gomers, Lenexa, Kansas. As I told the guys working at the store, when you see a new Mexican beer with a giant bug on it, you need to buy it. The pour is a mostly clear orange copper big full 3 inch light tan head. Head falls slow, leaving behind nice lace. Aroma is cooking caramel sweet, grainy vegetal hops, along with some earthy malt. Taste is mostly lightly toasted caramel malt up front, followed by the herbal green pepper vegetable earthy hoppiness. Not super clean, but a decent enough taste. Palate is medium bodied, decent level of carbonation, finish is dry and flinty (almost dirt finish). Overall, ok.

12 oz. can, $9/6 @ Binny’s. I’m really happy to see some real craft brew coming up from mexico, for some reason. Maybe because I’ll have some craft brew friends if I ever visit. Anyway, this pours a seriously dark brown for the style. Maybe just a little haze, and a stylish rocky head turning to lace. Again, oddly, I can’t get much of a nose out of this; just a slight note of Cascade hops. Taste has malts and hops in roughly equal proportion. But the malts are indeed darker, almost like a Mexican Vienna lager base; not grainy, but a touch more caramel than the honey and toast of an APA. Hops go mostly for a basic light grapefruit and pine blend. I’d chalk that up to trying to maintain consistency when hops need to be imported. Come to think of it, how many hoppy beers are there from countries with little or no hop production? Some of that hop note gets a little stronger as I go down the glass, and the stickiness of IPA malts gets noticeable toward the end, too. Also, occasional threads of warm alcohol. I’m happy to say it’s a nice beer.

A nice, malty pale ale. Pours transparent amber with a tight white head. Lots of caramel in the aroma. Some nuttiness, very light floral hops and a bit of clean yeast. Flavor is on the sweet side, but it’s not over the top. The finish could use a bit more hops because there’s a touch of sweet lingering slickness. Still, the beer is rather drinkable, and it’s nice to find a good Mexican beer.

Bottle pour. To date, this is the best Mexican beer I have ever had. Pours a pleasing light, red-brown with a medium, bubbly white head. Sweet aroma of liightly roasted malts, notes of brown sugar and dark fruits. Flavor is sweet enough to offset the adequaste hop presence. Quite well balanced, really. Medium in body with strong carbonation, this beer can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Some slight burnt malts on the finish. Overall impression is almost that of an amber ale. Really good stuff.

Pour is a hazy dark brown. Aroma is not much. Just a lingering caramel malt. Flavor redeams its self with a nice dose of pine hops and rosted malts. Finish leaves a bitterness on the tounge. Nothing to write home about but Mexico is at least trying.

Bottle. Pours a fairly dark copper with a big, fluffy head and non-descript malty aromas... caramel and apple juice. Flavor is similar... lots of caramel and apple juice concentrate with a little bit of a herbal/medicinal hops bite to bitter up the finish nicely. Feliz Navidad!

Beige head, with brownish amber body. Carmelized malts and some hoppiness in the aroma. Nice amount of hops. Bunch of carmelized malt notes. Bitter finish and a tingly aftertaste. Really nice and mellow beer, pretty well-balanced in my opinion. Best craft beer that I have had from Latin America so far. Keep it up!

draft at Falling Rock in Denver - Pours amber with a lasting off white head. It smells of malt and dark fruit and I have no idea why, but I thought I smelled and tasted wild yeast funk. Weird. I’d tried way too many beers by this time and maybe I was just way off. huh. At any rate, the flavor is sweet and fruity and funky with a medium body and some nice bitterness in the finish. Enjoyable.
