The last of the true Pennine light milds. A crisp, amber coloured beer that makes a refreshing session ale. The smooth and creamy flavour makes it a popular choice close to the brewery, and increasingly in destination pubs across the country.

Golden-bronze. Mellow light bitter with a hint of hop juiciness. Mellow, balanced malt, good quality bitter.

Cask handpump at The Polehill Arms, Renhold, Bedfordshire. Driving so needed something light and this fitted the bill. This is a nice golden beer for one that is 3.5%, though a little oily. No carbonation which suited it. Enjoyable.

Two hand-pulled pints in one of my locals on 24 Apr 2013. Light amber body, clean and clear with a good head of white foam. The nose gives away the semi-sweet biscuit maltiness within, very little hop presence in this brew and the malts are fairly understated too. This is a delicately produced blend of ingredients that just come together very nicely. Donโt expect strong flavours, this isnโt going to blow away your taste buds: itโs a good quality thirst quencher though.

[Cask at the Old Board Inn, Hawes] Amber-gold, thick white (sparkler) head. Sweet at first, with light hints of lemon & biscuit. Surprisingly dry finish. Rather bland overall, but OK.

Cask @ Station Bar. Slightly hazy golden colour, medium off-white head. Aroma is light hoppy, malty and a bit of biscuit. Flavour is soft malty, light hopped, dry biscuit. Creamy and soft mouthfeeling.

Cask, Hesketh Golf Club with Brad..The first one of these didnโt touch the sides after a mean 18 in the sizling late summer sun. Standard golden colour with a medium sized creamy white head. Nose revealed some grassy hop, citrus and malt notes. Flavour had a malty spine with some fruity character and restrained yet well placed hoppage. Definitely one of the better beers out there at this strength. Straightforward and tidy thirst quencher that is pretty dang moreish. Fore !
