Draught, Weintanne, Jena. Poured a slightly off white-grey head on top of a very dark brown body tinged with amber. Smells promising, very promising - soft, silky even raisins dipped in malt. Nice soft raisiny malty taste - distinctly and surprisingly nicely so. One dimensional but full enough and quite pleasant - a friend from Jena said it was his favorite there and it’s obvious why! Who would’ve thought I’d run into such a superbly executed light dunkler bock in Jena!

Malzig-würziger, etwas trocken und langweilig wirkender Antrunk. Etwas herb. Im Abgang stärker und minimal röstig. Hier auch erstmals würzig, malzig sowie etwas hopfig. Das geht deutlich besser! Test vom 11.10.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,8,9,11,8 - 8,40

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Intense malty flavor, finish not so strong, not alcoholic. Sweetness is missing. Average bock!

A nice krug - filled in the brewpub. A very good shot when opened. Completely black colored. No head. Sweet malty flavor. Caramellish flavor with a sweet bitter aftertaste. Thanks to CatweazleTroms for sharing his birthday present.
