Klasse!

Tastes much like the last one. Perhaps it's the same, sold to a restaurant under a different name. Regardless, good stuff! Sweet with a bit of spice on the finish.

Keg at Papiermühle, Jena. Dark brown, small head. Caramelly buttery nose. Sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Caramel and ash. Resinous bitter finish. Not very pleasant.

The wife and I stayed here overnight on 9th May 2017 and I obviously had all five of their beers that were on tap that evening: this being the last of the five. Dark pour, with a ruby tinge to the body, a beige head sat on top. Malty and hearty brew, again with the brauhaus sweetness coming through loud and clear.

(swing top bottle) Almost clear, mahogany colour with a firm, mid-sized and tanned foamy head. Slightly leafy and roasted malty aroma with notes of dried fruits/raisins and a whiff of molasses. Sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied at best with a moderate carbonation. Dark malty, slightly earthy and leafy taste with traces of molasses, residual sugars, as well as a whiff of dried fruits; sweet and discreetly bitter finish. Nice and straight “Schwarzbier”-Bock. 27.VI.16

Bügelverschlußflaše: Deep ruby coloured, clear, medium-sized stable and lacy off-white head; moderate to solid sweetish-bitter toasty-caramelly and fruity nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; lingering fruity and grassy-herbal finish. Nice surprise! An easy-drinking and well balanced DDR-Bock…
