Bottle. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of well... Cooper’s yeast, pears, caramel, weeds. Smooth creamy mouthfeel with lowish carbonation. Taste is fairly sweet with pears, apple, some tropical fruit, caramel, a little dab of chocolate. Bitterness is just more than balancing. There are some passionfruit and gooseberry hints, but it’s that distinctive PoR that predominates. Nobody’s going to have to guess who made this. Funny beer for a 150th anniversary, but a likeable drop. [3.4]Still liking this one better than most people, it seems. Quite cold works well.
