Haze Cake is our latest addition the Space Cake family. Wheat joins the signature Space Cake malt bill of sweet notes and shockingly smooth flavor, adding a fuller mouthfeel and hazy apperance in this Hazy Double IPA. Multiple dry hoppings of Mosaic and Citra make this beer a powerfully aromatic and tropically engaging tale of laser-aided rescue.

Can (8/23/21) pour from The Beer Store, Nashua. It's a cloudy light brown (like apple cider) with light sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with poor retention and light rings of lacing. Aroma is strong malt base and citrus. Taste is strong caramel malt and citrus and stone fruits. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, can definitely feel the Space Cake lineage. Too malt dominant for the style and too carbonated.

Can from Beer Republic. Hazy dark orange, almost murky, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of old mango, overripe orange, peach, pine, cheese, biscuit, cake, pomegrenate, grapefruit peel, paprika. Taste has sweet ripe mango, orange & plum in a biscuity malt profile, turning quite bitter towards hints of citrus rind, spices & pine. Remaining very bitter in a piney, resinous hoppy finish, dank yet spicy onion aspect, lingering old fruit; spicy gin-like alcohol remains hidden. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Dank, old, herbal almost, so bitter but kept together by the fruitiness. So disgusting it's delicious. Excellent.

From a 473ml can on 13/3/2021 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a smallish head. The nose is modest with just a bit of sweet fruit. The flavour is mainly apricot with some indistinct stewed fruit notes, with a mildly tangy bitterness. The mouthfeel is a touch oily and the carbonation moderate. Drinkable, but a rather lacking and uninspiring. Could pass for 6%.

Pours a hazy dark amber from a can. Big juicy mango with light citrus notes. Syrupy fruitiness. Pretty good beer.
