On cask at their outlet in Berkhamsted. Malty smooth beginning. Hints of dry red fruit, black current. Smooth with nice spices in the body, lots of fruit, full-bodied and round. Malt and nice smooth body. Dry malty and fruity aftertaste. Very great!

Cask at The Pennsylvanian (Spoons), Rickmansworth, Herts. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Caramel, spice aroma. Tastes of caramel, spice, berry fruit. Just about OK.

Cask at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Mahogany coloured pour with a whisper of a white head. Aromas of burnt toffee, caramel, sweet spice and raisin. Flavours of Chocolate raisin, smoke and burnt wood. Quite a dry brew. Good stuff.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 30/1/2013. Deep brown with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish, hedgerow fruit, leafy hop and caramel aroma, with a hint of butter. Flavour was similar, with an added citrus note, solid malts and moderately bitter finish. Marred by the buttery edge, but still ok.
