Bottle at home on the eve of Christmas Eve. Long day of car servicing, agreeing the contract for the CEO role and driving middle daughter and her boyfriend around. Good pour and a great rich colour in the glass. Loads of malt with a little bit of bitter hops lurking quietly in the corner. A good pint and one I would expect for the season. Now, let heavy drinking commence!

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep autumnal red. Nose - cornflakes and light raisin. Taste - raisin, brown bread. Palate - light to medium bodied. Dry finish. Overall - not the worst, just a bit bland for something that's a Christmas release.

4/1/2020. Cask at the Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Pours dark amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, chocolate, dried fruit and a touch of nut and winter spice. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Some dryness to finish. Not bad.

Cask at the the brewery shop. A brown copper coloured pour with a loose beige head. Aroma is nutty roasted malts, toasted brown bread. Flavour is composed of bitter toasted malts, dried fruit cake, spiced cak. Twig. Palate is semi sweet, nutty, decent cask condition.. Tasty malty beer.

On cask at the brewery. Smooth and malty beginning. Easy to drink with a nice roasted Ale characteristic. Smooth in the aftertaste, not too intense but nice dry smooth malty finish. Great!

On cask at Golden Eagle Lincoln - A red body, lacing white head. Nose is caramel and malt, with a sweetness carrying all the way through. Quite a pleasant one, but not so much of a winter warmer as I’d hoped for.
