Poured from half liter bottle into german lager glass. Nice deep, dark mahogany brown. Short head on pour which faded fast into nothingness. No lacing on glass. Rich flavor brings out the roast grains. Very flavorful with little or no aftertaste. A really good example of the Bavarian dunkel style, pleasant on a chilly winter’s day.

Bottle: reddish-amber coloured, smaller, lacing, off-white head; caramelly aroma with some roast-malty notes, demi-sec, slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, gentle MF; the roasted malt becomes a bit more impressive in the bitter bitter-sweet finish. A well balanced, likeable Dunkel........

(bottle) Clear, chestnut brown colour with a medium-sized beige foamy head. Sweet-bitter dark malty aroma, slightly roasted with hops and notes of hay. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dark-malty, slightly roasty taste with shy hints of treacle, moderately medium-dry malty, slightly bitter finish with traces of hops. A bit slim but drinkable Dunkel.
