A first for OverWorks - a brewery exclusive bottle release. The only place Gunpowder Treason will be sold is at the brewery at our Gunpowder Evening Event. A straight up Sour Stout which has been aged in Islay Whisky barrels for a full year.

Big decadent coffee and chocolate notes pair wonderfully with the Islay Whisky character imparted from time in
the casks. Bonfire smoke, oily peat and lightly spicy floral hits. Bright acidity and a super dry body mean this roguish beer is delightfully light and easy going for such a big flavourful beer.

Bottle. Overowks campfire It pours black with a dissipating tan head. The aroma is sweet - sour, rich roasted malt, earthy, medicinal, cacao, dark chocolate, touch of jammy berry, funk, bonfire smoke, vanilla, rocky road and liquorice. The taste is dry, tart, puckering, decent hit of acidity upfront, baslamico vinegar splashed on strawberries, mellow smoke, tangy red berry, redcurrant, kick of acid, dull smoke, toast and whisky with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. 1st time I had this I was sitting at 3. 3 for a small measure. Second time round I appreciate it more. A bit acidic, but fun stuff.
