Barrel-aged Imperial milk stout

A full-on showcase of grain whisky barrel character, fused with the classic profile of Russian imperial stouts. A blend of two giant stouts, each loaded with flavors of intense espresso, bitter of chocolate, molasses, and roasted malt, each compounded with notes of smooth ganache, toasted oak, hints of vanilla and spice, balanced against an aggressive bitter edge. Full-bodied, bittersweet, and complex.

Flat brown-black pour with a minimal light beige head that disappears quickly to a sparse outer ring. Sparse strings of lace. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and whiskey. Full-bodied with flavors of roast malt, bittersweet chocolate, oaky whiskey and vanilla. The finish is oaky with a sweet malt and bourbon aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Bottle thanks to Greg. It pours opaque black with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, sticky, toffee, caramac, creamy, dark fruits, salted caramel, date, fudge, maltesers, bourbon and oak. The taste is dry, bitter-sweet, sticky, toothy, chewy, woody, bourbon, oak, caramac, toffee, tannin, boozy warmth, charred oak, leather, maltesers, earthy and leather with a drying finish medium - full body and fine carbonation. A big olde filthy number.
