A Scottish sour ale fermented with mango, chillies, grapefruit and salt, aged in tequila barrels. To the victor go the spoils. Heady aromas, born of tequila-barrel influence, remind you that rules out here count for nothing. Reviving grapefruit citrus flows into rich, juicy sun-ripened mango. Twinned barrels acting to mellow the chili warmth that lingers longer than a Sonoran sunset. With a desert-like dry finish, this is the final stand to prepare yourself for. Vanquished Vigilante - To the last.

On tap at BrewDog Nottingham. Rusty irBger colour with a slim bead. Aroma and taste are tart to sour fruit. Hints of saltiness and tequila. But a touch dull.

Bottle, almost no head, hazy and quite deep orange color, aroma of acetone, melon, brett and some mango, flavor of peach yoghurt, hints of black pepper and bread, mellow lactic sourness, just a hint of hotness lingering, a touch of fruity sweetness creeping in over time. Really nice and enjoyable.

Bottle at home picked up from Brewdog online. A hazed dark reddy coloured pour with fading halo of white head. Aroma is tart chilli jam, mango, spicy funk. little yogurt funk. Flavour is composed of super tart, spicy, mango, bitter lemon rind, chilli, victoria plum. A little harsh. Palate is semi sweet, super sour, spicy, highish carbonation. Decent. Good depth of flavour.

Murky orange to toffee apple brown with an egg shell white covering that escapes edgeward. Nose is musty wood, stewed fruits, spice, damp straw, light funk, mouldy apple. Taste comprises tarte fruit rinds, hint of caramel, acidic rise, light spice, over ripe rotting orange, wood must, light barnyard esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced acidity. This one kind of grew on me as my drink progressed ... the spice is pretty subtle.

Keg at BD Castlegate. It pours muddy burnt orange with a quickly dissipating white head. The aroma is perfumed, tangy tequila, sweet - sour, mango salsa, oak, salty, margarita,. The taste is tart, puckering, salty, acidic hit upfront, chilli warmth in there (but doesn't linger for long), tangy mango, mango salsa, green, agave, oak, earth, a bit of red wine vinegar, sherbet, citrus peel, zingy grapefruit with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Novel for sure, but it's not one I would rush back to. Fine.
