This sour ale is fermented with wild yeast strains brettanomyces and Cher Ami, our house mixed culture, and refermented with raspberries followed by ageing in ex-Sangiovese red wine barrels sourced from Emilia Romagna in Northern Italy. Swathes of rich and juicy raspberry, delicately balanced amidst Brett funk, tartness and tannin, giving a subtle juicy fruit character from the barrels lingering vinous wood character and echoes of sweet Beaujolais.

Bottle, small stable bubbly head, quite clear and a touch pale red color, aroma of raspberries and some vinegar behind and a feral hint, flavor of raspberries with some bready maltiness, strong and mellow tartness. Good, highly drinkable.

Nose is raspberry, strawberry ice cream, light funk, jolly ranchers, lemon. Taste is astringent, raspberry and strawberry, lemon. hint of salt, cranberry sorbet, . Cheerful and simple, the funk from the nose doesn't come through in the taste which is more sour. It's nice, a fair price, and great that it's available in a supermarket.

Hazy blood red colour with no head. Aroma and flavour are packed with astringent raspberry. Mouth puckering. A good effort and very much in the direction of Cascade.

330ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy slightly light red colour with a short-lived fizzy white head and plenty of bubbles. The aroma is bretty yeast, big zesty raspberries. The flavour is moderate sour, with a fresh, crisp, juicy, light tart raspberry citrus, light dry, vinous palate and some dry oaky tannins. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lots of fruit in here and not overly sour. Very drinkable.
