Can from Best of Beers. Clear dark amber with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and a little dark fruit. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 200317

Can. It’s a lightly hazy dark amber to light brown beer with a sturdy light beige head. The aroma is quite malty, toast, roasted notes, prunes, some nuts and a touch of mashing. It’s full-bodied, silky smooth and semi-sweet, with a certain sweetness. Nuts, figs, prunes, toast, hints of mash and bitterness, and a wee touch of ripe red plums. Long finish with a metallic hint in the very end. Sort of unusual, but quite pleasant, and the body to ABV ratio is impressive. Still, it’s not a beer I’ll revisit I think. 170304

12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 12/15/2016. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange/copper with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of honey, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, grass, pepper, light plum/apple, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A bit fruity/yeasty, but pretty minimal. Flavors of big honey, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, grass, pepper, and toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, grass, pepper, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeast notes present. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is a very nice Vienna lager. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink. Very flavorful for the low ABV. Spot on style example. A very enjoyable offering.

Crisp amber coloured body with a deep brown glow and a tint of ruby, all with a large, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light malt, oats, grain, toffee, caramel and a bit of earth - relatively smooth. Light to Medium-bodied; Nice earthy and toffee-y flavour with some subdued grain and specialty malts around, all with a light fruity vibe and twinges of metal and hops. Aftertaste shows a bit of earth, but a mostly clean and fresh lightly toasted malt note with some sweetness from caramelised sugar and even a touch of fruit. Overall, a nice and smooth beer with a good profile, yet easy to drink throughout! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 16-July-2016 for us$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 23-February-2017.

Draft @ Bishops Arms Mollberg, Helsingborg. Pours an amber color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty grainy weak buttery caramel aroma. Fruity malty grainy caramel bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty grainy caramel bitter finish.

On tap at growler guys meridian. Pours out a crisp caramel color with a white head. Nose is wet grains light grassy hops. Taste is light grain some wheat notes light earthy grass and some spice.

On tap at P&P Charleston. Clear light Amber with medium beige head. Aroma is light caramel malt, light body, lower carbonation, and pretty good small-bubble lacing. Taste is light caramel malt.

Can at Low and slow smokehouse. Pours red amber. I expected something like a hoppy Corona as it is labeled Mexican lager, but it turned out to be more like a light Boston lager.

At Örebro Öl & Whisky 2016. Light amber with a white head. On the sweet side with bread, caramel, malt and some hints of fruit. The body was light as was the bitterness.

Pours slightly hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, floral and grass. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel, floral and grassy finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
