Beerito is a light bodied, amber Mexican lager brewed with premium German and Colorado sourced craft malts and featuring a crisp accent from noble hops. The mouth feel is incredibly smooth with flavors of walnut, toasted bread, plum, honey and cocoa - 4% ABV doesn't always come with this kind of character.

Brewed by Brevard Brewing Company, North Carolina. Clear medium amber colour, small but steady frothy beige head, good lacing. Malty nose, aroma roasted malts, caramel, syrupy. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malt, caramel, toasted, bit bready. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, light metallic touch, light body, oily texture, average carbonation, decent amber lager.

Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks troubles. Deep golden. Oxidized aroma of cardboard, graininess, a bit of honey. Sweetish flavor with malt, honey, cardboard, a bit of caramel, and a slightly bitterish finish. Quite light-bodied. Oxidized.

Can, 4%. Clear dark amber with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, hop, little toasted, little metallic and bread. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, little bread, medium sweet, hop, little chocolate and very little bitter.

Minnesota Trip Beer #67. Keg at Freehouse Brewing, 5/8/16. Clear golden, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of caramel malt. The taste is caramel, toasted malts, lemony citrus. Medium bodied, well balanced.

Can from a burrito joint: pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is caramel malts and a hint of hops. Taste is slightly sweet. Not as malty as they could have gotten away with. Almost watery. Should have probably put more booze in there. Meh.

Can from D&Q The Beer Station, Houston. It pours clear deep amber with a. Thick off-white head. The aroma is malt - driven, sweet, caramel, brown bread, muffin, cereal and toasted grain. The taste is smooth, mellow bitterness, toasted grain, brown bread, cereal, rivita, hint of lemon rind and caramel on the back - end. Medium body and average, foamy carabontion. Not a huge amount going on at all. A pretty forgettable malty lagerbier. Below average for Oskar Blues.

Can. Iced tea color. When I first tasted this, I immediately thought it was a slightly rude ale. However, after a few moments, the lager smoothness began to show thru. Yes, it does keep some of that near cloying ale-ee feel but then after each swig there seems to be an attempt to lure me back in. Each swig is a mild malty tease that keeps you coming back for more. Yes, now I’m thinking it is a milder malty ale. Mildness must be due to the 4% but I didn’t think it was less than 5%. On the finish there is the possibility that this is mimicking the milder ales of western UK. Yes, started out as 2.3 but she slid gradually up to a 2.7 maybe even a 2.8!
