Sampled from that tap at the brewery. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bourbon and bitter roast with marshmallow, vanilla and dark grain supporting. Flavor has a note of marshmallow and bourbon with bitter dark grains, roast and some vanilla in the finish.

Batch 3 on draft multiple times at DT. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head that dissipates. Lovely notes of marshmallow, vanilla, cacao nib and bourbon. On the palate more of the same with some oak, vanilla and more marshmallow notes. Cacao nib on the finish with bourbon and marshmallow. Stellar!

Bottle shared. Thanks Jon! Pours a fairly viscous deep brown with a small beige head. Big marshmallow cream and vanilla aromas with fudge and bourbon notes. Medium to thick bodied, lots of vanilla and marshmallow cream on the palate. Sweet, but still good base elements in place with some cacao nib and dark chocolate standing out. Bourbon lingers on the finish with more vanilla. Great stuff. A Michigan classic.
