Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Delectably dark brown, almost impenetrable, with a loose ring of tan head. Despite the chocolate orange description, I get mostly liquorice from the initial aroma. I also get chestnut, toasted malt, and the tiniest touch of chocolate. The taste has more citrus, with bitter orange peel balancing the sweetness of the malt. Light bitter chocolate and some sourness in the finish. Light body. A lovely little cask stout.
